Fresh off a big South by Southwest run, Big K.R.I.T. (Justin Scott) returned to The Live Music Capital on March 31 to perform a headlining show at Mohawk. The 24 year old Meridian, Mississippi native has been said to be ahead of his time and even non-hip hop media is starting to take notice. Even more noteworthy is the fact that he not only produces his own music, but has also tracks for hip hop heavy weights like Wiz Khalifa and Ludacris. Big K.R.I.T.’s major label debut with Def Jam is due sometime this summer.
Touring in support of of his latest album ReturnOf4Eva, hip hop fans at Mohawk were given quite a show. Freddie Gibbs and Smoke DZA rounded out the bill making the price of admission well worth it. Red River Noise newcomer Kristie Bocanegra was there to capture live photos of the event.
