A dusty, old-west town complete with gallows in the center serves as the backdrop for the latest video from Chris Cornell. The former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman has released the video for “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart,” from his upcoming solo album, Higher Truth. Directed by Jessie Hill, the video combines spaghetti western sensibilities with an alt-rock soundtrack. There are some notable cameos in the form of a guitar-playing Eric Roberts (a regular in the music video world by now) and Deadwood’s W. Earl Brown. Chris Cornell also appears as a character in the video, marking his acting debut.
Cornell will be performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sept. 17, the day before Higher Times gets released via Universal Music Enterprises. Cornell will also be kicking off an eponymous tour the day the album drops. The Higher Times acoustic tour includes two stops in Texas — one on Nov. 1 in Dallas at the Majestic Theatre and another in Austin on Nov. 2 at ACL Live. Hopefully, Cornell will be able to forget his broken heart in The Lone Star State. Check out the video below.
