Robot Ears here, all you club freakers and drop seekers. Former teaching assistant turned Danish superstar Morten is about to drop another one of his unapologetically club-centric choons, and this one looks to move him even further into the bright international EDM spotlight. It’s called “Ran for My Life” and is a drop-laden remix of young Canadian singer Guinevere’s track of the same name. The track is a big, aggressive, pop-vocals-heavy number with a quite European sound to it that is tailor-made for prime-time slots in club and festival DJ sets. It dropped just a few days ago on Beatport, and you can preview the thang below.
This track and Morten’s other work this year (such as single “Look Closer”) could very well catapult the Dane into the top echelons of international electronic music, a thought that’s backed up by the fact that the man is already playing and hobknobbing with the world’s biggest acts (Avicii, Diplo, Axwell etc.). Morten is a household name in his home country, a trip to fame which began in 2008 with his remix of “Højere vildere (skru op for den bitch)” with Rune RK, and since then he’s only become more accessible and well-known with each subsequent release. Give ‘er a listen kiddos, and put some Denmark drops into yer molly-lovin’ heads.
