Singer-songwriter and blues virtuoso Gary Clark Jr. will be hitting the road this fall for a nationwide theater tour in support of his debut album Blak and Blu. The guitarist extraordinaire is spending the summer performing at festivals across Europe. He also appeared as a special guest sitting in with The Rolling Stones during their show at the TD Garden in Boston on June 12. The Stones have been fans of Clark since Mick Jagger first heard him perform at the White House last year.
Clark has also been the subject of two recent segments on CBS This Morning. He sat down for an extensive interview from Electric Lady Studios in New York on June 14. Clips from Clark’s stellar performance at The Governors Ball Music Festival were featured during the segment.
Born and raised right here in Austin, Texas, Gary Clark Jr. has been making a name for himself since he began playing the guitar at 12. Clifford Antone, former owner of the Austin club Antone’s, met Clark and helped him begin his musical journey in the Austin music community. Clark has performed with artists like Jimmie Vaughn, who used Antone’s as a launch pad to redefine rock music.
You can catch Gary Clark Jr. here in Austin on November 29 where he will be wrapping up his fall tour at Stubb’s.
