For those of you wondering if the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival would return this year: It’s back on. After a successful inaugural run last year, Moontower recently revealed the first wave of comedians scheduled to perform this April 24-27 at the second annual festival.
Headlining this year is Dana Carvey, who is known for his flawless impressions on Saturday Night Live and his high-strung antics on the sketch-turned-movie Wayne’s World. Bill Hader—another SNL cast member—will also be showcasing his incredible talent and hilarious characters at festival this year.
Comedian Jim Gaffigan, known for his sarcastic and comedic commentary on life, food and much more, is also set to headline at the festival. Bill Burr—aka Kuby on Breaking Bad and also the host of the popular Monday Morning Podcast—will be in Austin cracking everyone up with his blunt humor.
The other two headliners, Anthony Jeselnik and Amy Schumer, have both been featured on the late night television circuit, Comedy Central and have each been named one of the “10 Comics to Watch” by Daily Variety Magazine.
Below are more comedians gracing Austin with their talents at the Moontower Comedy Festival:
Jim Norton —is brutally honest in his comedy, and is also a New York Times Best-Seller and radio personality.
Marc Maron —is sometimes angry sometimes witty but he holds a comedy cult legend status and he is the host of WTF with Marc Maron Podcast.
Maria Bamford —was the first comedienne to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials and has several comedic voiceover gigs in the animation world.
Greg Fitzsimmons —is a sarcastic comedian who also has his own show The Greg Fitzsimmons Show on Sirius XM.
Chris Hardwick —pretty much does it all. He is stand-up comedian, emcee, actor, writer, musician, podcaster, television personality, and voice artist.
Fortune Feimster —is a full-time writer, performer and frequent panelist on the show Chelsea Lately, aside from being a stand-up comic.
Todd Barry —has a receipt museum. Need I say more?
Janine Brito —has been dubbed as daring, smart, snarky and sarcastic. Sounds like the perfect comedic combination!
Kyle Kinane —is the voice of the Comedy Central promos since 2011. He was also on Daily Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” list and has guest-starred on the show Workaholics.
Now that you know the names and faces of this hilarious bunch you can purchase your Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival badges knowing that, in fact, you will be LMAO-ing all week.
