Violet Crown Cinema invites moviegoers to kick start their weekend with the Sputnik Beer Release Party, along with a screening of Man on a Mission: Richard Garriott’s Road to the Stars. This Thursday, Dec. 20, watch the one-time special event about one man’s quest to outer space whilst tasting the new seasonal brew Sputnik.
The documentary Man on a Mission Richard Garriott’s Road to the Stars inspired Austin Beerworks to join forces with Cuvee Coffe to create the beer Sputnik. Representatives will be present to speak about the inspiration and creation of their new beverage. All ticket purchases will include a private reception with small dishes prepared by Violet Crown Cinema, a screening of the film with director Mike Woolf in attendance, 1 pint of Sputnik courtesy of Austin Beerworks, and coffee tasting courtesy of Cuvee Coffee.
Director Mike Woolf captures the story of Richard Garriott’s journey to become the first second-generation American astronaut. With a renowned reputation as a computer game developer, Richard Garriott was on a quest to travel outer space.
The one-time only Sputnik Beer Release Party and Man on a Mission Richard Garriott’s Road to the Stars screening is this Thursday, Dec 20 at Violet Crown Cinema located on 434 W. 2nd St. The reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by the screening at 7 p.m. Ticket prices range depending on the quantity selected but most are $25.
