San Francisco-based cyber-pop artist Holly Herndon was recently announced a candidate for doctoral study in Electronic Music at Stanford University, and received her MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media at Mills College. Her musical work explores embodied experience in electronic media through experiments with the electronically processed voice, using extended vocal techniques, vocal processing and FM synthesis.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Holly Herndon will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at The Parish. Austin’s own Corduroi will open the show. The best part? We have a pair of tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
The giveaway will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below after submitting your full name and email address. Only submissions with full names will be officially entered. We will pick the winner from these submissions before 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, the day before the show. The winner will be notified via email from Red River Noise.
The Parish is located at 214 E. 6th Street. Doors open at 8 p.m. All ages welcome. Advance tickets for this event are available for purchase online here.
