Brooklyn-based chillwave band Small Black formed at the tail-end of 2008 as a bedroom recording project. The group first made waves with their eponymous debut EP. The quartet, Josh Hayden Kolenik (keys, vocals), Ryan Heyner (guitar, keys, vocals), Juan Pieczanski (bass, guitar) and Jeff Curtin (drums, percussion) have moved past the hazy, bedroom-recorded feel of their previous releases with their second LP, Limits of Desire, released on May 14 via Jagjaguwar.
On Tuesday, June 18, Small Black will perform a headlining concert at Red 7. Support will come from Texas native John Pena, or Heavenly Beat. Austin-based experimental post-rock band Equals open the show. The best part? We have two tickets to give away to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
The giveaway will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below and submit your full name and email address. We will pick the winner from these submissions before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the day of the show. The winner will be notified via email from Red River Noise. Good luck!
Red 7 is located at 611 E. 7th Street. All ages are welcome. Concert will be on the inside stage. Doors open at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are available for this show here.
