The late, great Bill Hicks had a brilliant bit about Jimi Hendrix being sent here by aliens to show the Earth’s population how it’s done. I don’t think it’s really going out on a limb to suggest the same could be said about David Bowie. Sure, that was always part of Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust lore, and a few years after that Bowie would go on to star in Nicolas Roeg’s cult classic, The Man Who Fell to Earth. I believe the truth is hidden somewhere in between reality and myth.
And if there’s one thing I surely know, it’s this – David Bowie hasn’t toured in quite a bit. Maybe age is catching up, or maybe the alien is almost done with it’s mission. So, we go on to the next best thing – Bowie cover bands!
