Friday, May 1, marks the return of Austin-based 8-bit electronic-indie faves Built By Snow. Produced by local PR & Management company The Loyalty Firm, the show is the band’s first after a four year hiatus. Fans new and old will want to take advantage of the opportunity to see Built By Snow live as the group has no plans at this time for a full fledged reunion.
Built By Snow was a Red River staple from about 2006 to 2010. The group’s sound was often compared to bands like Weezer and The Cars because of their danceable electronic indie-pop that integrated 8-bit video game sound effects. They garnered a loyal following after releasing their debut EP NOISE in 2007, but it was 2009’s MEGA that took them to the peak of their popularity.
Holy Mountain is located at 617 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 9 p.m. All ages welcome. $5 cover at the door. Visit the Facebook event page here.
