Thursday, Feb. 26, French Gangsta House pioneers and producers Amine Edge & DANCE will be performing in Austin at popular EDM venue Kingdom. The event, produced by Austin-based EDM event production company RealMusic Events, is a rare treat for fans as the duo rarely appear Stateside, much less in Austin.
The Marseilles, France high school homies’ claim to fame is having collectively bridged the gap between house and hip-hop, creating their signature Gangsta House sound. More commonly referred to as “G-House” in EDM circles, the genre in its simplest form is an offshoot of the traditional house blueprint that leans towards a bass driven, hip-hop vibe and typically sits at the 120/122 beats per minute (bpm) mark.
The duo are also the founders of relatively new label, CUFF. which they launched in 2013 in Paris to coincide with the debut of Mixmag France. The label includes some ear worthy DJs/producers in the world including Mexico’s Thee Cool Cats and fellow Frenchman Tim Baresko to name few,
