Cine Las Americas International Festival is hosting their celebratory Signature Series, this week honoring writer/director Lucy Mulloy. On Sunday, Feb. 16, Cine presents Una Noche at the Alamo Drafthouse Village followed by a Skype Q & A session with the director.
Una Noche captures the story of Cuban teenager Raul, who is accused of assault. As this accusation begins to take a toll on his reputation, he and his best friend, Elio, decide to flee the country to the United States. Their journey is told through Elio’s twin sister, who stays behind. She unveils their harrowing one night adventure, that is filled with hope as they faced one of the most challenging nights of their lives.
The film begins at 4 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Village (2700 W. Anderson Ln.) The film is in Spanish with English subtitles, it will be followed by a Q & A session with writer/director Lucy Mulloy. Ticket prices start at $10. Cine members will have to purchase a ticket online through the Alamo Drafthouse website, but will be reimbursed $2 at the box office.
