The North Door invites moviegoers to their weekly Free Film Tuesday’s movie event presented by Free and Queer Cinema. On Nov. 12, join Free and Queer for the screening of Set it Off starring Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Director F. Gary Gray’s solemn approach, after the humorous Friday film, chronicles four African American women struggling with the same issue- lack of money. Through their challenges, they unite and become bank robbers. But, with money comes greed, and the women begin to change.
Before the film, enjoy live musical guest BLXPLTN and Adzua Gette will be spinning all night. The North Door is located at 501 Brushy St. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted and given to Allgo QPOC, a statewide queer people of color organization.
