Since the release of their latest full-length album, Bury A Dream, Driver Friendly has had a busy year playing regularly between Austin, Dallas and Houston; performing six showcases during South by Southwest (SXSW) 2013; releasing three singles (“Ghosts” (2012), “Messidona” (2012) and “Shark Cave“ (2013)) and a music video for “Messidona” which honors their favorite actor, Tom Hanks. Driver Friendly is notorious for their mastered and timeless pop-punk sound, angsty lyrics, brilliant horn section and energetic live set. In October 2012, the band signed to Hopeless Records. In addition to celebrating the release of their new EP, Driver Friendly will soon be heading on a tour that will take them through Texas up to Canada and then joining the Vans Warped Tour.
Experimental noise-pop rock band Boyfrndz will be taking the stage before Driver Friendly this Saturday. The quartet continually masters their experimental noise-pop style that is tinged with a unique psychedelic sound. The quartet has been getting ready for the release of their upcoming EP, Natures, which will be released July 16. So far, the band has released their single “Water Weight” from the upcoming EP and is currently planning a U.S. tour to promote the album.
Kicking off the night is Austin-based indie band, Little Radar. The indie-rock band cultivates a distinct style, a well-established sound with brilliant chord progressions, beautiful lyrics, and an airy voice embedded in an upbeat, summery rhythm. The quartet is releasing their debut full-length album, SOUVENIRS, on August 6. The album was recorded at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN, produced and engineered by Mitch Dane, and is currently being mastered by Richard Dodd (Raconteurs, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Wilco).
