The Puro Chingon Social Club was formed by the Puro Chingon Collective, an Austin Art Collective that works in specializing on zines, interactive theater, and public art interactions. They’ve recently created a ChingoZine, which is an art zine that promotes aspiring Latino artists.
The film chronicles the life of Manuela, a mother, friend and strong woman who travels to Barcelona to find her son’s father. After Esteban, her son, passes away, writer/director Pedro Almodóvar captures Manuela and the women in her life who are all dealing emotional barriers that bring them closer together and closer to answers about Esteban’s father. The film stars Cecilia Roth, Marisa Paredes and Penelope Cruz.
