The Texas Metal Collective has come together to pay its respects on the eighth anniversary of the tragic death of Texas’ metal shredding god, Dimebag Darrell (Darrell Lance Abbott). A Dimebag tribute concert is going down at the Dirty Dog this Saturday, Dec. 8.
Throughout his life, Dimebag Darrell thrived as an influential metal guitarist and earned his respects from some of the scene’s top players and created a fan base who idolized him. He set the bar for a new emerging metal scene in the early ’90s with Pantera and with his new band Damageplan in 2003. His legacy still thrives today and will live on through the generations.
TXMC has brought together some of Texas’ finest in metal including Beyond Gods and Empires headed by founder of the TXMC, Marc Villarreal. Metal enthusiasts Nekrist, Of the Sun and Rend are also on the bill. If there is one thing that Texas does better than rodeos, barbecue and beer, it’s producing some of the best of the best in metal. Come out and celebrate the life and the legacy of the man behind the shred, Dimebag Darrell.
The show is free and it starts at 9 p.m. The Dirty Dog Bar is located at 505 E. 6th St.
