Cinema East, Austin’s east side outdoor summer film series, is powering through its first fall series. The films are all new, independent titles and the series includes post-screening Q&As with the filmmakers. If you missed the first film screening, the second is coming up on Monday, October 15.
Nobody Walks stars Olivia Thirlby as Martine, an artist from New York who arrives to Los Angeles to work on her film. She stays with a family who are friends of a friend, including Julie (Rosemarie DeWitt), husband Peter (John Krasinski) and their two children. Peter agrees to help Martine with her movie as a favor to his wife, and through their collaboration sparks a connection that deeply impacts each character’s life.
Directed and written by Ry Russo-Young (You Won’t Miss Me) and co-written by Lena Dunham (HBO’s Girls), Nobody Walks has been gaining critical acclaim and sweeping up awards, such as the Sundance Special Jury Prize.
The screening is at the Violet Crown Cinema, October 15 at 7 p.m. You can buy your tickets online on their website here: VCC.
