Winter Wednesday nights carry a peculiar atmosphere– one of Southern rock n’ roll, melancholia wrapped up in a strange hope, but it still sounds warm and it still sounds sweet. This Wednesday Noisy Neighbors’ weekly “garage rock party” at Beauty Bar encompasses just that peculiar spirit by showcasing John Wesley Coleman, Delicate Cutters, and Western Ghost House.
Singer-songwriter John Wesley Coleman will be headling the showcase. Coleman recently released a 7” Split with Gary Stewart late last spring, and partook in a summer tour with fellow local band, Rayon Beach.
Also performing will be Delicate Cutters, composed of Janet Simpson-Templin, Brian Moon, Kevin Nicholson, and Chance Shirley. The quartet’s music is particularly rich in strings and carries a carefully catered complexity with a cool Southern summer essence. Delicate Cutters sounds like the perfect compliment to bridge John Wesley Coleman’s set with opener Western Ghost House.
Indie-rock band Western Ghost House will be opening the showcase. Their recently released debut album Kaleidoscope Tower encompasses the essence of various styles– promising an unpredictable atmosphere and demanding your attention. The band style and lyrics has a hint of errie and harrowing, of longing, of rock n’ roll that will without a doubt lay down the energy and atmosphere for the rest of the night
The night will also feature DJ Short Stump.
