With so many band members, the eight-piece band, Rubblebucket, is able to play indie-pop to Afrobeat inspired dance music with ease. The Brooklyn based band was formed in 2007 by lead vocalist Kalmia Taver and trumpet player Alex Toth after meeting the rest of the members at an art opening in a milk bottling plant. Determined to share their unique style with audiences everywhere, Rubblebucket toured for two years non-stop. Their effort was recognized in 2009 as they accepted the Boston Music Award for Best Live Act.
After a year since their last album, Rubblebucket is getting ready to release their second album, Omega La La, on June 21 via Sin Duda Records. The album was recorded last year and produced by Eric Broucek who is known for his work with LCD Soundsystem, Cut Copy, Hercules and Love Affair. In addition, the band will stop in New York City to headline the Bicycle Film Festival during their tour.
