Metal Mother’s psychedelic, dark folk, and haunting trance-evoking sounds surfaced with her debut album, Bonfire Diaries, in early March 2011. Oakland-based Tara Tati, performing as Metal Mother, is preparing for a West Coast tour to promote her debut album. The album developed with the influences of nearly a dozen other artists, including Tommy Cappell from Beats Antique, and Micha Grainger from The Yard Dogs Road Show.
Metal Mother released her new video for “Shake”, the latest single from Bonfire Diaries. Tara Tati produced, directed, and styled the album’s first music video, “Shake”. Tati explains that the music video “tells a story of an annihilation and the oppression that modern culture lays upon us.” The visually interesting video has an array of strangeness, featuring alien women, smoky rooms, old buildings, gooey elixirs, and even the Metal Mother herself in a rainforest.
