Dance punk duo Digitalism, made up of Jens Moelle and Ismail Tuefekci, fuses electro music with a garage band attitude. After meeting at a record store in Hamburg, Germany, Moelle and Tuefekci joined forces to create a DJ duo that sounds like an indie band. Digitalism composes music that can be likened to French hard-hitting electro DJs Justice and Daft Punk. In addition to producing their own tracks and DJing in cities all over the globe, Digitalism has remixed tracks for The Presets, Tom Vek, Daft Punk, Tiga, Klaxons, White Stripes, Monk, Depeche Modeand many more.
Digitalism’s sophomore album, I Love You, Dude, has been released digitally today in the United States and will be released physically on July 5. The album is a follow-up to their popular debut album Idealism, which was released in 2007, and features Digitalism’s latest single “2 Hearts,” an electro-indie song with captivating lyrics and guitar and keyboard riffs. You can catch Digitalism perform in Austin at Stubb’s on August 10 as headliners for the HARD Festival summer tour.
