When the Zumiez Couch Tour rolled into Cedar Park last week, it was hot. Really hot. However that didn’t stop kids from showing up for all the free skateboarding, music and swag they could get their hands on.
Hosted in the Lakeline Mall parking lot, the day started off with all things skateboard. First there was a skateboarding qualifier and competition for the local kids. Then the pros from the Almost skate team took over the Zumiez ramp and gave the audience an impressive demo.
After all the skateboarding activities came to an end, the music started with Arizona rockers, Anarbor. Even though it was the heat of the day, fans immediately got pumped for the show. As soon as the band played the first note, the crowd mobbed the stage and started a tiny but still very present mosh pit in the back of the crowd. With their crazy-catchy pop rock songs and energetic stage antics, Anarbor kept the crowd bouncing along to every song.
With the whole crowd good and sweaty, Dallas natives, Forever The Sickest Kids, wrapped up the day’s festivities. The band’s youthful albeit mediocre pop rock had everyone in the crowd smashed against the stage, and the little-mosh-pit-that-could even left one kid with the tiniest little forehead cut. And although the music and performance were nothing more than mediocre, the crowd still really enjoyed the show, bouncing and singing along to every song.
