We are coming up on the first Friday of the new month this week and that means it is time for “First Friday Frolic.” This July edition will actually be a farewell of sorts as there are some major changes happening here at Red River Noise (details TBA exclusively at the Frolic). Furthermore, ‘Frolic founder, Adi Anand of Transmission Entertainment, is going to be taking time off from the ‘Frolic series to concentrate on new events, including Hard Stuff and Soundboard.
While neither we or Adi are really going anywhere, it is the end of an era. Before we both go on to new ventures, we picked two awesome local bands to send us out properly. In between sets, we will make our official public announcement about the changes here at Red River Noise. We’d love for you join us at Club de Ville to celebrate with us.
Opening the evening ‘Frolic is Austin experimental-math rockers, Tactics. The band consists of three members from Zlam Dunk and their long time-friend, Glynn Jordan, on bass. Ever since their first show at Mohawk last fall when they opened for post-rock heavyweights, This Will Destroy You, Tactics have slowly started to take off. Listen to their self-titled EP on bandcamp here.
To close the night, we wanted a band with an original sound and a band that would make people dance. Indie-electro rockers, Fresh Millions, was the clear choice. The Austin trio is a new local favorite by many music lovers and media outlets alike. Playing in support of their self-titled debut album and a new EP released in March, Fresh Millions will be ready to groove your face off.

Doors open at 5:00pm with a cover of $3. There will be free drinks provided by Waialua Soda Works and snacks from Beanitos.
