Continuing our tradition of showcasing the best bands and artists Austin has to offer, we are proud to present a showcase with such diverse musical genres this Saturday at Mohawk. There will be plenty of fuzzy psych-rock and dancy post-punk to satisfy even the most discriminating music enthusiast. In other words, we like the bands and think you will too.
One of our featured bands at our Free Week showcase in January was the post-punk, new wave outfit known as MoTel Aviv. Formed in 2009, very few in the local indie scene can get people dancing as quickly as MoTel Aviv. Having just released their new album, Post Modern Nation, MoTel Aviv is a band that should end up in your iPod or music collection. MoTel Aviv takes the stage at 11:00pm.
Headlining will be Austin psychedelic fuzz rock heavyweights, The Strange Attractors. Performing in support of their latest release, Midnight at Xochil’s, released on Past/Futures Records in April. The Strange Attractors have been an indie tastemaker favorite every time they’ve released an album, garnering praise from Austin and beyond. Be sure and stay late as The Strange Attractors take the stage at 12:00am.
