The time has come again for Transmission’s Adi Anand’s “First Friday Frolic” showcase at Club de Ville. This month, the First Friday Frolic will be paying tribute to the hilarious locally-created website, Lamebook. Despite the website still fighting Facebook in court, donations will be accepted to keep the laughs rolling, and supporting the website to tend to our must needed daily comic reliefs. An update on their court situation will be announced at the event.
Regardless, the overtone of First Friday Frolic is laughter, fun, music, and mingling. This month’s First Friday Frolic will be featuring live performances by local artist, Rayon Beach and Royal Forest.
The perfect concoction and mix of psyche and garage sounds, Rayon Beach is bringing a delirious and trippy rock feel to the mind-of-Adi event. With Psych Fest having come and gone, you can get you can get your ingenious trauma fix with Rayon Beach.
Following Rayon Beach, will be another local band, Royal Forest, formerly known as Loxsly Their rich rock sound and well-composed orchestrations will definitely be a treat to catch. Their recently released cover tracks, and the album they released in April of last year, are available for download at the Royal Forest Bandcamp.
The new Austin tradition, First Friday Frolic, not only features rich local music, but this month, local food carts have been invited to set up in the de Ville lot. This month the event will feature Ugly Banjos, which specialize in Texas comfort food. So, come hungry for their highly talked about Shrimp & Grits meal!
