Most remember Ryan Cabrera as Ashlee Simpson’s spiky-haired boyfriend who came out with a few pop hits a few years back. Before all of that, he grew up in Dallas and first picked up the guitar after Dave Matthews Band inspired him. He eventually released his first album in 2004. Cabrera’s debut, Take It All Away, was highly successful and “On the Way Down” reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Cabrera went on to release two more albums in 2005 and 2008.
After laying low for the past few years, Ryan Cabrera is making his return to the spotlight with a new album coming out in the fall. Joining Cabrera on the album will be Sabelle Breer and Curt Frasca (Butch Walker, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Mariah Carey) who, in conjunction with Ryan, were responsible for mega hit “On The Way Down.” Also on board is Sacha Skarbek (Adele, Sir Paul McCartney, Duffy, Jon Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Amanda Ghost), Dallas Austin (Pink, Gwen Stefani, Madonna), Printz Board (founding member of Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, John Legend) and Jimmy Messer (Kelly Clarkson’s “Never Again,” Neon Trees, Kanye West). While most of his time in the coming months will be devoted to the album, he will be touring this summer including a headlining show at this year’s Bamboozle Fest.
