Wu-Tang Clan is hip hop’s biggest and baddest supergroup in history. Wu-Tang’s early success is why the individual members such as Raekwon were able to launch successful solo careers. The fact that each Wu member is a talented M.C. in his own right also helped cultivate that success. For Raekwon, it was his first solo release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx that launched his successful solo career.
Austin Wu-Tang loyalists, sometimes referred to as “Wu-warriors,” turned out on a Tuesday night at Red 7 for a rare intimate performance from “The Chef.” Like every hip hop touring act performing in Texas, Raekwon rocked a classic logoed Astros t-shirt as well as the crowd in attendance. Austin based and regional hip hop acts DJ Notion, Dubb Sicks, Crew54 & LOEGz provided support for the show. Raekwon is on tour in support of his latest release Shaolin Vs.Wu-Tang.
