Dave Depper is a multi-instrumentalist that lives in Portland, Oregon, who has played on and produced several records to date, but has yet to come out with an album of his own. In spring of last year, Depper concluded that it was about time for him to change that. Rather than simply throwing together an album, Depper proposed a challenge to himself. All by himself, in 30 days, he planned to re-record Paul McCartney’s 1970 solo album, Ram. Depper set up a few guitars, bass, drums, microphone and computer in his bedroom where he recorded each song bit-by-bit.
Throughout the project, Depper set up a blog to post each song as he completed them and he’s releasing the album in its entirety, which he’s calling “The Ram Project”, May 3. Listen to “Oh Woman, Oh Why” from the album below and download here.
