The Swellers have certainly come a long way since we last saw them at Red 7 in Austin. With humble beginnings in the blue collar town of Flint, Michigan, the once DIY pop-punk band is fresh off an epic summer Warped Tour leg in support of their Fueled By Ramen debut,Ups and Downsizing. The band really made it big last year when they toured with pop-punk superstars and fellow Fueled By Ramen label mate, Paramore. While their sound has evolved into a slightly more pop-punk sound since they first started playing, they still have their original punk elements in their live show that got the band an early fan boy following when their album My Everest was released in 2007.
Co-headlining on the tour is fellow Michigan based punk rockers and Triple Crown Records recording artist Fireworks. Currently on tour supporting their latest release, All I Have To Offer Is My Own Confusion, the Detroit natives are on the rise in the pop-punk, Alt Press world. Man Overboard and Transit open.
Red 7 is located at 611 East 7th St. Doors open at 8 p.m. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets for this show are available through Front Gate Tickets here.
