May 15. Sarah Jaffe and her backing band were phenomenal at The Parish on Saturday. The Texas singer/songwriter’s powerful voice and poignant lyrics kept the crowd in awe as they swayed and grinned. Cello, violin, accordion and sparse percussion kept the mood soulful and stirring. Jaffe’s quirky between-song banter kept things light enough. After all, the show was a celebration of the release of Jaffe’s debut full-length album, Suburban Nature. Read a review of the show by Eugenia Vela here. All photos by AJ Miranda.
