Self-deprecating charm and playful visuals are both big players in Laura Stevenson’s latest video for her song, “Jellyfish,” which premiered over the weekend. The video is simple, and features Stevenson and her band performing the song with jellyfish visuals in the background. The straightforward set-up lets the viewer zero in on the sharp self-commentary Stevenson is singing and the upbeat music it’s set to.
“Jellyfish,” comes off of Stevenson’s fourth album Cocksure, was released the same day via Don Giovanni Records. Most of Cocksure was recorded live in-studio and was produced by Jeff Rosenstock of Bomb The Music Industry!, who’s been a collaborator and friend of Stevenson’s according to the official press release. Stevenson will be keeping busy as the year closes out on her national fall tour with Matt Pond PA, which according to the release, started Friday.
