Just as Austin City Limits (ACL), the music festival, kicks off, ACL the TV show is getting ready to do the same. Season 41 of the iconic music show premieres tonight on PBS with an hour long episode full of performances, including some from ACL’s Hall of Fame celebration held in June.
Artists on this season of ACL range from veterans like Gary Clark, Jr. to those making their ACL debuts like iconic singer-songwriter James Taylor. The complete lineup for the season has yet to be announced, but so far viewers can look forward to checking out artists like TV On The Radio, Don Henley, and Asleep at the Wheel for the first half. The KLRU-TV-produced series has been showcasing what Austin does best — live music — since 1976 and has featured hundreds of artists. This season will run for 14 weeks, with 7 new episodes set to premiere in January. Tonight’s premiere starts at 8 p.m. CT / 9 p.m. ET, but if you miss it, you can always check it out online right after the broadcast.
