Ten years later, Jenny Lewis is marking the anniversary of her first solo album, Rabbit Fur Coat by repeating history. When her solo debut premiered in 2005, Lewis went out on tour with M. Ward (probably best known as one-half of She & Him) and The Watson Twins to promote the album. The same artists will be joining her on a small, three city tour early next year. There aren’t any Texas dates for that tour, but have no fear Lewis fans. She has several shows planned for the rest of this year, including a stop in Texas at El Cosmic Transpecos Festival of Music and Love in Marfa on Sept. 24. Lewis is also releasing a deluxe, limited edition vinyl remaster of Rabbit Fur Coat to further celebrate its anniversary.
Lewis has a big year ahead of her. Along with commemorating the start of her solo career, she will also make her way to Netflix via Bill Murray’s Christmas special. A Very Murray Christmas, which will feature the man himself joined by a number of famous friends, including Lewis, is directed by Sophia Coppola and scheduled to be released sometime this December.
