If you’ve ever played Pac-Man, chances are you know how quickly you can be hooked on it. You may have even had a small case of “Pac-Man Fever,” a-la the 1982 song by Buckner & Garcia at one point. If anything in the last two sentences rang true for you, then congratulations, because there’s a new version of the vintage video game anthem out — complete with a brand new video done by Steelehouse Productions.
Originally made when the pair of Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia were inspired by the new trend of video games in 1981, “Pac-Man Fever” initially struggled to find a label for its release. Finally, when Arnie Geller of BGO Records heard it, the single found a home and the pair continued making music together until the death of Garcia in 2011. Fast-forward to 2015 and the revamp features Jace Hall, and has a fitting video — Pac-Man themed — to go with it. This release also happened to come out around the same time as Adam Sandler’s latest movie Pixels which, of course, is about video games. Relive the fever and check out the video below.
