It’s been two years since their 2013’s acclaimed Dreams in the Rat House, but Shannon and the Clams are now releasing a new full-length this fall. The Bay Area trio have set their release date for Gone by the Dawn as September 11 and this will be their second album for Hardly Art. Earlier this week, Stereogum debuted their lead single “Corvette,” along with its music video, which you can watch at the bottom of this post.
Gone by the Dawn might just be The Clams’ best work. The band’s sound has evolved and their skills are sharper. They’ve even added new instruments to their usual mix. The Clams got with studio wizard Sonny Smith to record this album at Tiny Telephone Recording in San Francisco. In support of the album, Shannon and the Clams will be on the road from September to October. Their will be a stop in Austin on October 2, but the location is to be determined. Considering their last (non-SXSW show) time in Austin was 2014’s Austin Psych Fest, a more intimate venue would be a badass chance to get to see this talented trio.
