This week popular Austin-based hip-hop duo Riders Against The Storm (RAS) released their new music video for their party anthem, “Booty Sweat.” The video features footage shot at The Sahara Lounge during the Body Rock party, a monthly event the group co-founded with DJ Chorizo Funk. Other footage includes the group dancing with some friends in front of Juiceland, the “butter half” mural at the United Way for Greater Austin building and at the “I Love You So Much” wall of Joe’s Coffee on South Congress. The video footage was shot by Paul Galvan and Justin Humphrey.
RAS are composed of husband and wife Chaka Mpeanaji (Jonathan Mahone) and Qi Dada (Ghislaine Jean-Mahone). The duo released their debut self-titled EP in 2013 and won Band of the Year at the Austin Music Awards for 2013-2014. RAS has opened for several national recording acts, including George Clinton, Blu, Talib Kweli and Dead Prez to name a few.
