One of the most respected and prolific electronic artists of our time Moby, is at it again. “Death Star” is his debut release on Dim Mak Records and he has collaborated with electro-house artist from Brazil, Darth & Vader. Between both artists styles, Moby and Darth & Vader have come together to create a dark and driving tune that could easily be used in The Empire Strikes Back soundtrack or as background music in a dark nightclub. According to the official press release, this release also comes with a commended remix from Tristan Garner, fresh from his remix of The Film’s “Can You Trust Me,” as well as a remix from Tom Piper & Rob Pix.
It has been about 23 years since Moby released his first single “Go,” and he has been making albums ever since. Moby’s records alone have sold over 20,000,000 copes worldwide. Darth & Vader’s influences ranges from dirty electro and progressive house to dubstep and rock. DJs like Armin Van Burren and Skrillex have shown their support for Darth & Vader’s releases that are full of heavy/complex basslines. Moby himself has been a fan since he showed his support of the D&V track “Return of the Jedi.”
