Austin-based orchestral indie band Mother Falcon announced today that they will be releasing a live recording of Radiohead’s OK Computer on Mar. 18. If you were lucky enough to see the group perform any Radiohead songs live in the past year, then you are familiar with their unique interpretations of the classic tracks. Mother Falcon will be performing in support of the release on multiple occasions during South By Southwest. See full details below.
Mother Falcon is composed of a rotating ensemble of fifteen to twenty musicians, including three cellists, six violinists, a horn section, several pianos, a bassoon and even a glockenspiel. The group began to coalesce around multi-instrumentalist and composer Nick Gregg while the members were still teenagers, coming together via orchestral and chamber music classes. The orchestral indie band has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls, Austin music icon Alejandro Escovedo, Jherek Boschoff, Ben Sollee and Tony Trishka.
