Radio sensations Neon Trees are back in the spotlight with the upcoming release of their 3rd studio album, Pop Psychology. The Provo, Utah-based band spent most of 2013 traveling and recording the album with Tim Pagnotta who produced and mixed two of the band’s biggest hits. Pop Psychology is due to drop on Apr. 22 via Island Def Jam, but the label has already begun streaming the album’s first single, “Sleeping with a Friend” on SoundCloud (listen below).
The band will be hyping up the album’s release by appearing on a handful of talk shows, including Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Jan. 16, TODAY on Jan. 17, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Jan. 22. As expected, Neon Trees will be going on a yet-to-be-announced tour in support of Pop Psychology sometime this spring.
Neon Trees boasts the talents of singer and keyboardist Tyler Glenn, guitarist Chris Allen, bassist Branden Campbell, and resident bad-ass chick drummer Elaine Bradley. The group has been playing together since 2005 but truly began their journey to the top in 2008 when they opened for The Killers. Since then Neon Trees have been nothing but busy recording, touring, covering Justin Bieber songs, and making people dance.
