Welsh rock band Skindred is gearing up for a new album titled Kill The Power, which will release on Feb. 18 this coming year. Serving as the group’s fifth album Kill The Power is set to feature several songs written in collaboration with important songwriting figure Russ Ballard, who’s known for writing classic rock songs such as, “Since You’ve Been Gone” and “God Gave Rock & Roll To You.” The title track from the album serves as its first single and video, with the latter showing the band traveling through the streets and slums of India.
Formed in 1998, Skindred would become known for its incorporation of different genres of music, as well as its energetic and entertaining live performances. Featuring Benji Webbe (vocals), Dan Pugsley (bass), Mikey Demus (guitar) and Arya (drums), Skindred has released four albums (2002’s Babylon, 2007’s Roots Rock Riot, 2009’s Shark Bites And Dog Fights and 2011’s Union Black) and has performed on the Reading/Leeds festival’s main stage.
Kill The Power will be released in North America through Red River Entertainment, and distributed by Sony/RED. Check out the first single for the album below.
