Steve Aoki can do whatever the fuck he wants. Like, say the dude wants to be in a basketball video game despite being shit at basketball: he can do that. Need more bearded Asian versions of Jesus showing up in your Google image search? Wikipedia says he did that too. But what if your dream is to become such a big DJ that you can not only come out with your own pair of headphones and some DJ gear, but also make a music video to promote them which features a Freaky Friday style switcharoo between your life and that of Richard Simmons? Well then, you’d be a big damn Steve Aoki copycat, ’cause the DJ just did exactly that.
On Oct. 30, international superstar DJ Steve Aoki revealed the music video for his new single “Bring You to Life (Transcend),” and it is one high-energy, Aoki-headphone featuring pop EDM piece of work. All you really need to know is that it’s catchy as supercrabs and has Richard Simmons urging you to “Dance, prance.” The video comes out in conjunction with Aoki’s Aokify America tour, and if you ever wanted to see what Simmons’ afro looks like when pierced by lazers and rave lights, ya need to see this vid, kid.
For those who somehow ain’t know who Aoki is, Steve Aoki is the founder of the Dim Mak Record label turned freakishly popular international EDM performer. He’s like, real fuckin’ into weird show shit like throwing confectionaries at his audience and jumping in a raft to ride across the dance floor, he knows pretty much everyone in the business, and it’s highly likely that Asian Jesus, as he is known, will one day rule us all with a champagne soaked fist.
Get a look at the vid below, and keep an eye out for more from Aoki in the near future, ’cause it’s comin’ (dude does somethin’ new every damn week).
