Los Angeles-based rapper Watsky released his new video for the song “Kill a Hipster,” Sept. 15. Co-directed by Watsky and Jackson Adams, the video is a zombie apocalypse spin on gentrification. “Kill a Hipster” is the the latest single off Watsky’s debut studio album, Cardboard Castles, and features guest poet/emcee Chinaka Hodge. Cardboard Castles was released Mar. 13 via Steel Wool Records.
Originally from San Francisco, George Watsky is a poetry slam award winner and even appeared on the final season of Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry in 2007 while he was only a freshman in college. He self-released his 2007 album Invisible Inc. and his self-titled follow-up album in 2010. Watsky will be kicking off his “Hug a Hater” tour with fellow Los Angleles-based rapper Wax on October 4.
