Indie singer-songwriter Lissie is set to release her second studio album on September 10. The 12-track album Back to Forever will be just as frank as her debut album, Catching A Tiger, but with a more developed sound. Lissie has grown into her Mezcal-and-cigarettes voice that was so riveting on her first album, which has been certified Gold in the UK and Norway and led her to be named Paste Magazine‘s “Best New Solo Artist.” Back to Forever was produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee, a man who has produced the works of R.E.M., Snow Patrol, Silversun Pickups and more. The album was recorded by Lissie and her band late last year at The Garage in Topanga Canyon, Seahorse Sound Studios in downtown Los Angeles and Brotheryn Studios in Ojai, California.
Elisabeth Corrin Maurus, better known as Lissie, grew up in Rock Island, Illinois where she began writing songs from an early age. Her second EP release Why You Runnin’ was ranked among the “Eight Most Auspicious Musical Debuts of 2009” by Paste Magazine. A load of festival opportunities, television appearances and film/TV song placements were given to Lissie after she released her full-length debut Catching A Tiger.
Her tour kicked off on June 15, and Lissie will be previewing songs from Back to Forever throughout her shows. The tour includes performances at the Bumbershoot Festival and both weekends of Austin City Limits Festival. A highlight of Lissie’s tour will be her run throughout Europe where she will play the second stage of London’s Hard Rock Calling right before Bruce Springsteen’s main stage set on June 30.
