Temporarily based in Los Angeles, Brazilian natives CSS have set up base in sunny LA to record their new album Planta, and also to prepare for their upcoming summer tour in the United States. The group will hit many East and West coast cities from June 14 to July 20. They will also be hitting up our beloved Austin on July 18 at Emo’s with New York’s MNDR. Electronic duo MNDR consists of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade, a fun pair that will complement and enhance the musical stylings of a vivacious group like CSS.
CSS stands for “Cansei de Ser Sexy,” which when translated to English means “I got tired of being sexy.” With a name like that, it’s apparent that these four ladies know how to have a good time. The band just released a music video for their crazy, new track “Hangover.” The office space dance party of a video was choreographed by Toni Basil, who gained fame from “Oh Mickey” and the song was co-written with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong. The song dances between the lines of pop, dance and punk music. Check out the video below for a preview of what kind of tunes you’ll be hearing when CSS plays in your city.
