English indie-folk favorites Mumford & Sons are swinging their way through Austin this summer. The band will kick off their North American tour on May 21 and will make their stop in the Live Music Capital of the World on June 8 and June 9 at the Austin 360 Ampitheater. Both nights will feature Michael Kiwanuka and Mystery Jets as the openers. The Austin 360 Amphitheater is a new venue to Austin that will allow room for up to 14,000 concert-goers which is bound to create an awesome atmosphere for this show.
Mumford & Sons consists of Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane. This foursome formed in 2007 and six years later, they are keeping true to their roots. This band is one of the few groups in the last few years to really embrace their original sound and not sell out to the current “digitally-enhanced” fad . From “The Cave” to “I Will Wait,” Marcus Mumford’s bass drums and the twanging of the banjo resonates throughout each album.
Mumford & Sons fans can take part in a special “Invitation Onsale” that started on Mar. 25 by registering here. Tickets for the tour will be made available to the general public on April 5 through Ticketmaster.
