The Last Bison, known for their mountain-top chamber music along with elements of indie-folk have received nothing but critical praise from their fans all around for their refined lyrics and vocal harmonies. They have been recognized for bringing inspiring sound to the folk genre. This March, the band will be on the road in support of their major label debut album, Inheritance, which came out March 5 via Republic Records. During their tour, they will be stopping by Austin for South by Southwest on March 12 at Blackheart Bar starting at 7 p.m. (SXSW badges only.)
The Last Bison, formerly known as Bison, was formed in Chesapeake, Virginia. Ben Hardesty’s (vocals and guitar) has been said to resemble the sound of Fleet Floxes, Mumford &Sons and The Decemberists. Nonetheless, their sound is impeccable for a good sit-down of folky tales. Their music definitely transcends a defining era.
