There are major, major updates to the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival lineup! There are now more national and local acts that will likely sell out so it is recommended that you get your festival badges soon. The talented comedian AND musician Reggie Watts has been added as a headliner! The Brooklyn-based comedian is known for combining his musical and comedic genius to put on a great—and likely sold-out—performance.
As a “threefer” bonus the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival has included Michael Ian Black, Chelsea Peretti and Judah Friedlander as headliners. Black, comedian, writer, screenwriter, and actor, is known for his self-deprecating humor. He is the author of My Custom Van and You’re Not Doing It Right and aired his Very Famous special on Comedy Central. Peretti has also been featured on Comedy Central and has written for the NBC sitcom Parks & Recreation. She performed at Moontower last year and returned this year for some more fun with the Austin crowd. You may remember Friedlander from his wisecracking role as Frank Rossitano on the NBC hit sitcom 30 Rock. Now that the show is over, Friedlander is traveling and doing stand-up in his signature trucker hats. He has been featured on several late-night shows including Conan and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and has even written a book on How To Beat Up Anybody!
Also added to the interesting mix of comedic styles are true Midwesterner and podcaster Jackie Kashian, funny gal Carmen Lynch and the cop-turned-comic Billy D. Washington. Maggie Maye, Mario DiGiorgio and Derek Phelps have also been included in the festival lineup. This year, the Paramount Theatre and Cap City Comedy Club will be the only venues selling single tickets to shows. If you want to attend comedic performances in other venues you must have a badge to gain entry. FAN Badges are on sale now for $129. Tickets for individual performances at the Paramount Theatre are on sale and range from $31 to $84. Tickets to performances at Cap City Comedy Club are on sale as well ranging from $18 to $22. All shows are ages 18 and up. The Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival will take place Wednesday, April 24 through Saturday, April 27 and badges are selling out quickly. Some of the performances at the Paramount Theatre and Cap City Comedy Club are already sold out. Don’t miss your chance to be in the presence of great comics and to laugh out loud, get your badges and/or tickets soon!
