Warner Bros Records has announced that they will debuting Pythons, West Palm Beach rock band Surfer Blood‘s sophomore album. Surfer Blood is made up of frontman JP Pitts, guitarist Thomas Fekete, bassist Kevin Williams and drummer Tyler Schwarz. Their debut album Astro Coast made its way on to some top dog “best of” lists like BBC, Filter, NME, Paste, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. Pythons was recorded in Los Angeles with the help of producer Gil Norton, who is known for his work with the Pixies, Echo and Bunnymen. Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Guided By Voices) mixed the album.
Pythons is set to release June 11 which marks the second to last date on their two-month long North American tour supporting Foals. Along with their touring agenda, Surfer Blood will be making two appearances in Austin. They will be hitting South by Southwest before heading on their tour which leads them back to our great city on April 27 at Emo’s to open for Foals.
