Since going solo in the 1990s, singer-songwriter Tori Amos has sold over 12 million albums and been nominated for eight Grammy awards. This Maryland-raised artist became known for her use of a piano as the primary instrument in her music. She began composing instrumental pieces on the piano at the age of five. Amos’ lyrics have been compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell, who is one of the greatest female recording artists/poets of the late 20th century. Her most recent album Gold Dust is a collection of songs that Amos hand-picked to re-record with the Metropole Orchestra who are based in the Netherlands.
Earlier this month Amos released a new four-track remix package “Flavor (Peter Raunhofer Mixes)” on Deutsche Grammophon. “Flavor,” the track used as foundation for this remix release, is the lead single from Amos’ current album Gold Dust. Peter Raunhofer is a Grammy award winning DJ/remixer that has done remixes for artists like Madonna, Cher, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and Pink. The tracklist for this remix package is “Flavor Club Mix,” “Flavor Big Room Mix,” “Flavor Old Skool Dub Mix” and “Flavor Club Mix (Radio Edit).”
Another new project for Amos is The Gold Dust Instagram Map that has just launched on her website. Amos’ fans in the U.S. can upload their photos and stories that they can relate to a track on Gold Dust. Photos entered by fans will be chosen from different US cities to make up a Gold Dust map. Along with entering for the chance to be a part of the map, fans will be in the running to win a signed copy of the album.
