One marriage, one director and one movie powerful enough to change everything. From a spark of inspiration and the obsession to break through boundaries, director Alfred Hitchcock changed cinema. His persistence to create great films made him a well-known director, but his eye for making the audience feel as uncomfortable as the actors in his psychological thrillers made him iconic.
These elements define Hitchcock, the story of director Alfred Hitchcock and his wife during the making of Psycho. Fox Searchlight Pictures and Moroch Entertainment present a free screening of the biopic Thursday, Dec. 6, the day before its national release.
With legendary director aging, and the media criticizing his ability to out-do himself, he pushed the boundaries of suspense by executing mental fear. His cinematic creativity sparked change and innovation.
Director Sacha Gervasi (The Terminal), captures Hitchcocks’ pressure to invest everything into Psycho, and the relationship between him and his wife, Alma Reville. The film Hitchcock is based on the non-fiction novel, “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” by Stephen Rebello and features an A-list cast with starring roles from Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs) as Hitchcock, Academy Award winner Helen Mirren (The Queen) and Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation) as the actress in the notorious shower scene.
